At Portmead Primary School, we aim to use our Professional Learning Grant to support the continuing professional learning for all staff.
Professional learning should support improvements in pupil experiences, learner outcomes and learner wellbeing.

Education in Wales: Our national mission sets out how the school system will move forward over the period 2017-21, securing implementation of the new curriculum with a focus on leadership, professional learning, and excellence and equity within a self-improving system. The action plan focuses on raising standards for all, reducing the attainment gap, and delivering an education system that is a source of national pride and public confidence, which are our overarching aspirations for education in Wales.
In Portmead, we use our PDG grant to directly support those children in greatest need. This is done through the employment of additional staff and resources in order to accelerate the learning for these pupils.

Devolved Funding for Minority Ethnic and Gypsy Traveller Learners
Terms and Conditions:
Funding from the Welsh Government is conditional on continuing to provide support for minority ethnic learners. The purposes of the grant should be delivered through working in a sustainable way i.e. preventative, integrated, long-term and collaborative.
